Tuesday, August 8th : Arrival, Orientation & Dinner
Arrive SJC (AA, 10:35 - Conf. # FHEVAY) Depart to Santa Cruz around 11:00 a.m. Check-in to accommodation by 3PM. Paradox Hotel 611 Ocean Street 831-425-7100, Prepaid by UCSC. Planning & Orientation dinner 6:00 PM at Olitas Cantina w/ Profs. Phil Crews & Ted Holman

10:00 am - 11:00 am - Meet with HBCU SRI (PSB RM 205): White, Nowell, Amosu, Walker, Colbert
11:00 am - 12:00 pm –Meet with Alissa (RM 360) – review program, website, reimbursement actions
12:00 pm – 1:00 pm - Lunch on own
1:00 pm - 3:00 pm - McKinnie Lab subgroup meetings (Rm 240)
3:00 pm - 4:00 pm - McKinnie Lab Tour (PSB Rm 340)
4:00 pm - 5:00 pm - Meeting with Dr. McKinnie and Crystal Nowell (PSB Rm 340)
6:00 pm - Dinner On Own: suggest El Palomar downtown followed by going to the Oppenheimer movie (7:05PM ) at Santa Cruz Cinema 405 Pacific Ave.

12:00 pm - 1:00 pm - Lunch with Laura Sanchez, meet at PSB 344
1:00 pm - 2:00 pm - A tour of the UCSC-CSC led by Dr. Beverley Rabbits (PSB 456 & 465)
2:00 pm - 3:00 pm - A tour of the UCSC NMR Facility, led by Jack Lee (PSB 139)

On June 10, 2023, the SRI Fellows took an Expedition to the interdial zone at Davenport Landing. This fun & fact filled journey, to a site 10 miles north of Santa Cruz, was organzed by Prof. Holman. Oddly enough, it provided Joshua Amosu's first up-close glimpse of the Pacific Ocean!
